Native Hawaiian Plant Sale on Maui

Like plants? How about taking a relaxing break from the stresses of the week by stopping at the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens for a Native Hawaiian Plant Sale? It will be held on August 29th from 9am to 2pm.
Here is a list of some of the plants that will be for sale: Ohai, ‘ōhi‘a, Kalo, ‘ōhi‘a ‘ai, Kulu’i, Kupukupu, ‘Ilima, Mai’a, Ko’oloa’ula, Hibiscus species, and many more. Many native plant growers are to participate, so it should be a good Maui community experience.
Where to find this plant sale? The Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is located at 150 Kanaloa Avenue across from the football stadium in Kahului. You can call 249-2798 or go to www.mnbg.org for more information.
Supporting the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will help them to foster understanding and appreciation for the ecology of Hawaii on a public level. Of course the focus is on Maui, Moloka'i, Lana'i and Kaho'olawe. If you're as great a fan of Maui Nui as we are, that's all the more reason for you to participate and contribute. The MNBG also strive to provide an environmental education of Hawaiian cultural expression, conservation, recreation and biological study to residents and visitors.
If all that doesn't excite you, maybe you'll just find a cool looking plant!
