Kihei Community Association of Maui

Buying Kihei Real Estate

By Mark Harbison

If you are a Kihei resident, or you are thinking about becoming one, and perhaps buying Kihei real estate in order to do so, consider attending the upcoming Kihei Community Association (KCA) meeting scheduled for 6:30pm on April 19th at the Kihei Charter Middle School at Lipoa.

The KCA is involved in the preservation and improvement of Kihei on many levels. They work consistently with individuals, businesses, community organizations, county government, and law enforcement to make sure Kihei continues to be a great place to live and visit. Their efforts have improved the infrastructure, safety, growth and quality of life in this part of the island.

Some of the KCA's primary goals are to build a high school and a hospital in Kihei, to make sure parks are taken care of, and to make sure any growth is executed responsibly. They have a Planning Committee, a Roads Committee, a Parks Committee, and an Environment Committee. You can get involved with any of those, if you are interested. Membership can cost as little as $25 for an entire family, and that small amount of money is a good investment if you want to help shape and influence the quality of life in Kihei.

Part of the KCA's humble and inspiring mission statement says, "We are an organization that works together for the good of the community first. We may not agree on all the details of what is needed nor the priority of the list but we work together hand in hand, openly and honestly. We get behind the goals of the association and make progress where we can."

As for the upcoming meeting, the KCA reminds those attending to bring in food donations for the Maui Food Bank if possible. There will be pupus and time to talk before the meeting starts. The subject under discussion for this meeting will be on schools and education in Kihei in relation to the development planned for the mauka side of Pi'ilani highway. If you need more information, call 879-5390 or see www.gokihei.org.

If you are interested in Kihei real estate, we can assist you. Feel free to explore the listings on this website, including a vast array of Maui condos to choose from. You'll find our contact information at the bottom of the page. Mahalo!
