By Mark Harbison

On April 23rd, next Saturday, the Rotary Club of Maui will be presenting their Fourth Annual "Chefs on the Beach" fund-raising event to support some of Maui's most valuable non-profit organizations.

Although we are seeing improvement after improvement in Maui's economy, in the past year especially, there are still those struggling with financial difficulty. In times like these, it is more important than ever to support the non-profit organizations that support our community. This event will raise money for just such organizations. They include:

Maui Youth & Family Services / Malama Family Recovery Center - Hospice Maui - Friends of the Children's Justice Center of Maui - Maui Family Support Services - Women Helping Women - Imua Family Services - Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center

Not only will the funds raised to go these wonderful organizations that provide support to those who need it most, but the event planners have worked hard to make sure it is an enjoyable afternoon for all who attend. It will be a casual but elegant culinary experience, which will be limited to 350 people. Joe Sugarman has donated the use of his beautiful property as the location. Alan Jahns & JMD Beverages have donated a selection of over twelve wines, and as for the food, participants will experience the following:

Roy’s – Raku at Makena Beach Resort - A Saigon Café – David Paul’s Island Grill - Merriman’s Monkey Pod Kitchen - Three’s Bar & Grill - Mulligan’s on the Blue - Sansei - Brigit & Bernard’s - Hana Hou Café - Flat Bread Company - Waterfront

Fulton Tashombe - “Benoit Jazz Works,” Phil & Angela Benoit - “The Hawaiian Serenaders,” Rich Tom & Mele Fong
