The Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB) is holding an upcoming fundraiser dinner and auction on Saturday, the 27th of August at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa. The title is, "A Pathway To Our Future," because the money will benefit the Ke Alahele Education Fund.

If you are unfamiliar with the Ke Alahele Education Fund, it was launched in 2006 to help stimulate investment to broaden career pathways for those living in Maui County. The fund has facilitated the fund raising of $420,000, which has benefited educators, students, parent groups and community organizations. They have promoted fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Over 30,300 students have been influenced by their work.

If you have any interest in furthering Maui's educational excellence and a great experience for the kids on the island, this is an event you should consider attending. U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye and his wife Ms. Irene Hirano, Mayor Alan Arakawa and his wife Ann will headline the event. All are dedicated to education on Maui.

The event will include an Apples for Education Silent Auction, activities and exhibits of the grantees during the reception, which starts at 4:30pm. After the reception will be the dinner and live auction at 6:30pm.

Tickets are $150 per person. You can make reservations and get more information at the Maui Economic Development Board, Inc. at 808-875-2300 or visit www.medb.org.
