Holiday Brunch at the Grand Wailea

South Maui Homes in Wailea

By Mark Harbison

There are so many wonderful things about owning a South Maui home during the holiday season, and one of them is your proximity to luxurious retreats that others have to fly thousands of miles to reach. Sometimes it's nice to hang up the oven mitts and let someone else take care of everything during the holidays. For this, we recommend an upcoming event at the Grand Wailea Hotel.

On December 25th, between 9:00am and 2:30pm, The Grand is hosting a Holiday Sunday Brunch. This fantastic holiday feast will feature slow roasted natural turkey basted with herbed butter and basil, smoked Kurobuta ham wrapped in brioche truffled bordelaise and slow roasted prime rib rubbed with Hawaiian salt, kukui nut and roasted garlic, just to name a few. The menu also includes delicious breakfast foods, salads, soups, sushi, hot entree's, decadent deserts and a keiki buffet.

Hula dancers accompanied by Hawaiian music will be the live entertainment for this special Christmas Day event.

The brunch will take place in the beautiful Grand Dining Room. The room itself features open architecture, an incredible view of the ocean, a magnificently high ceiling, and two floor to ceiling murals, one depicting the demigod Maui and the other, King Kamehameha the Great.

A portion of the proceeds from this event benefit the Maui Visitor Industry Charity Walk, so you won't just be spoiling yourself with a delicious meal and enjoying a romantic holiday, you'll be helping a charity within the Maui community.

You don't need to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy the brunch but we do recommend making a reservation to secure your seat. Call (808) 875-1234, x4900. Prices are $62 for adults, $30 for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Children 4 and under eat free. There will also be complementary validation for parking, if you attend.
