Keiki Shark Sleepover at Maui Ocean Center

South Maui Real Estate in Wailea

By Mark Harbison

Maui's keiki (children) are invited to take part in an event for young ocean enthusiasts! Now keiki can Sleep with the Sharks at the Maui Ocean Center. This fun sleepover activity is sure to pique your child's love of undersea adventure and marine life. Children in grades 3 through 8 are welcome.

Keiki will learn all about the lives of the Ocean Center's nocturnal sea creatures, get a peek at bioluminescent (glow in the dark) organisms, and learn all about how shark behavior changes after the sun goes down. This sleepover includes educational games, discovery lessons, and crafts with an ocean theme. The Ocean Center will provide an evening pizza party on the night of the sleepover, and a continental breakfast in the morning.

Maui Ocean Center is flexible with the concept of creating other sleepover events for organized groups of 15-30 visitors, like girl or boyscout troops, student field trips and birthday parties. Other ideas are welcome too!

The Shark sleepover will take place on Fridays, February 17 and 24. This overnight activity is $60 plus tax per child (includes meals and craft materials), and Maui Ocean Center members receive a 15% discount. This is a great opportunity, but open spots will go quickly. It's a good idea to make reservations in advance. You can find the sleepover registration form here www.mauioceancenter.com. For more information, call (808) 270-7070. The Ocean Center is a short drive from Wailea and Kihei, located at 192 Ma'alaea Road, Wailuku. Don't let your kids miss out on an activity that has made many adults jealous! A night trip to the aquarium sounds fun no matter how old you are, but it's great that kids can enjoy such an interesting experience.

Are you in the market for a South Maui condo or home? There are beautiful Maui mls listings in this part of the island. The only trouble is choosing between them. This week, we suggest that you peruse Wailea homes. If you need any assistance, you'll find our contact information at the bottom of the page. Mahalo!
