Dine Out For Hospice Maui

Live in South Maui

By Mark Harbison

On Tuesday, November 13th, Maui residents and visitors alike will be dining out, and for a long list of restaurants, part of the proceeds will go to Hospice Maui. It's all part of the Dine Out For Hospice Maui event, and there are 29 participating restaurants to choose from.

This worthy event takes place every year, and it's a great way to make a difference while enjoying an evening out with your friends and family. If, like us, you are lucky enough to live in South Maui, the nearest participating restaurants are Buzz's Wharf Restaurant, Capishce, Fabiani's Bakery & Pizzeria, Mala Wailea, Mulligans on the Blue, Stella Blues Café, Pita Paradise Wailea and Monkeypod Kitchen. If you will be dining in another part of the island, or you need information on which meals of the day are part of the event, visit the Hospice Maui website.

For those of you who aren't familiar, Hospice is a wonderful non-profit organization that has been providing quality, compassionate services for patients and their families who need care and support during the final stages of life. Hospice helps not only to maintain the comfort, quality of life and dignity of their patients, but they also provide emotional and spiritual care, as well as bereavement support for a year.

To learn more about what they do, click this link. In the meantime, we hope you will participate, and suggest this event to your friends, family and associates, so we can get as many people as possible to help Hospice do their good work. The increase in business will also provide a boost to Maui restaurants as an added benefit to the community. If you'd like more information on restaurants, events, schools, and other elements of living on the island, see our Maui information section. Mahalo for reading this week!
