Free Native Tree for Your Maui Landscaping

South Maui Homes

By Mark Harbison

Maui HomesLooking to add some gorgeous landscaping to your South Maui property? Have you thought of planting native trees that will need little care and grow naturally well in the climate your home is in? Would you like a free native tree? If so, you're in luck!

For this year's Arbor Day, the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will be giving away 1,000 trees on Saturday the 3rd (that's tomorrow).  One tree will be given away per person, so if you bring some friends who want to help, they can donate their trees to your project. There's no age limit either, so if you've got kids, bring them along too. Experts will be there to help you pick out the ones that are most ideal for the weather conditions where you live.

Aside from the giveaway, the celebration will also include free demonstrations on proper tree care. Non-profits will be there to educate the public on Maui's environmental issues, which you can learn more about, and help if you so wish.

There will be 25 tree varieties available at this fantastic community event. How often can you get hold of a free native tree, with expert assistance? Just show up at 150 Kanaloa Ave in Wailuku between 9am and noon on the 3rd of November if you would like a tree. Perhaps this will be just the inspirational kick you need for turning your property into a beautiful Maui garden. If you plan to eventually sell your Maui home, it also helps to have lovely landscaping to make the home more attractive to buyers. All it takes is some tender loving care, and time to grow.

In the meantime, we can praise the Maui Nui Botanical Garden for their wonderful conservation work on behalf of Maui's native plant species, and all the efforts they undertake to educate the public about these unique and beautiful species. Mahalo to MNBG, and mahalo to you for reading this week! Have a wonderful weekend!
