Maui Heart Disease Fundraiser for Women

By Mark Harbison
Are you passionate about fighting heart disease? It is still the leading cause of death in the U.S. so chances are good that your life has been influenced by it in some way or another. If you consider how fast technology is evolving in this country, it makes sense that major strides in medicine should allow us to reduce or remove heart disease altogether from our list of life threatening illnesses. To perform the necessary research for this brighter future, the cause needs fundraising from communities like ours, which are full of people who are passionate enough to help make a difference. If you are one such person, you might be interested to attend the following event.
The Kapalua Spa will present the Go Red Soirée on February 2nd between 3pm-5pm. This is a fundraiser focused on fighting heart disease in women. All of the proceeds will benefit Maui's American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Movement. February is heart month, after all, so it is fitting that they chose this date for their fundraiser. While it's a bit of a drive to get to Kapalua if you are lucky enough to call South Maui home, you're sure to find it worth the drive.
The theme for this fundraiser is fashion and feminine beauty, so the event will feature a fashion show, makeup stations, body posture evaluation, chair massage by the spa, a silent auction, and other fun attractions for the ladies. Health and beauty go hand in hand, so why not combine the two?
You can purchase tickets at http://goredsoiree.eventbrite.com. The price is $65, and there is a limited number available. If you're looking for a relaxing Saturday afternoon of feminine fun while making a difference and mingling with like-minded people, this is an ideal event, especially if you have friends who could enjoy it with you. These kinds of events are one of the main reasons why living on Maui is such an enriching community experience!
