Sometimes it's a good idea to take a break from our busy, productive lives for an enjoyable evening out. Even living in South Maui, things can get hectic, and work can be taxing, but there's a reason we choose to live our lives on this stunning tropical island. No matter how hard you work, it's still a wonderful place to relax.
If you are looking for a fun, island-style Maui event, the upcoming 8th Annual Maui Ukulele Festival at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center should be just what the doctor ordered, especially if you enjoy Hawaiian music. Who doesn't?
On Sunday, October 13th, the festival will take place at the A&B Amphitheater between 1-7pm. There is no admission fee, all you have to do is show up, maybe bring a chair, and relax with friends to the sounds of beautiful island music as you are serenaded by some of Hawaii's acclaimed 'ukulele musicians. Roy Sakuma will M.C. the celebration of this trademark Hawaiian instrument at this family-friendly event.
The music isn't the only interesting thing about this event. There are also door prizes, displays of Hawaii-made arts and crafts, as well as delicious island food available for purchase. Any Maui celebration worth its salt is going to have great music and equally fantastic food, so the rest can be considered happy bonuses.
This festival is a great opportunity to spend time with friends who enjoy Hawaiian music as much as you do, and if you've made a recent move to Maui and you're still getting to know the island, then it's a great chance to meet new people, learn about the island, and maybe do some networking. We hope you enjoy this event!
