For those of you looking for a fun, social outing on behalf of a good cause, the Book Trust's 2nd Annual Art Extravaganza will be held at Gannon's Restaurant in Wailea on February 1st. If you've read our prior blogs, you've probably noticed by now that the positive efforts of our community make up one of our primary reasons for specializing in South Maui real estate. This is a perfect example of one of the many fundraisers, benefits, cultural events and various other celebrations that take place here on a regular basis.
The Book Trust provides books to children from low-income families throughout Maui County as a part of an ongoing effort to enhance their literacy skills and to foster life-long learning. In this technological age, it's easy to forget how much can be learned from books, especially when so many children are raised in front of a computer, television or cell phone screen (which are also limited in low-income homes).
Celebrate with the Book Trust at Gannon's between 5:30-9:30pm, and you will be provided with pupus, cocktails, entertainment, and a live and silent auction highlighting the work of some of Maui's most popular artists. There will be paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and a variety of other types of artwork.
Tickets are $100, and you can get more information by visiting www.gannonsrestaurant.com and www.booktrust.org. We hope you have a fantastic evening, and feel great about your contribution to this worthy non-profit at the end of your night. Mahalo for reading this week, and if you need assistance with your real estate search, you'll find our contact information at the bottom of the page.
