Hope Fest Maui to be Held in Kihei

South MauiIf fighting cancer is a cause that speaks to you, we'd like to suggest Hope Fest Maui, an upcoming benefit taking place here in South Maui at the Maui Brewing Company in Kihei. The event goal is to raise money for the American Cancer Society, and for the completion of Hope Lodge Hawaii, a cancer treatment facility that provides lifesaving programs and services to the community.

The fest is arranged by a passionate group of volunteers and sponsors striving to foster hope and awareness through this celebration. Their efforts are a credit to the island, and will benefit both residents and visitors alike. This is the inaugural year of the event, and many more are likely to follow throughout the years, especially if it turns out to be a smashing success this year.

An invitation-only reception will kick off the event with a silent auction and special musical performance on Friday, September 18th. The main event will be held on Saturday, and tickets are available for purchase at the Hope Fest Maui website. Saturday's festivities will be anchored around a series of stage performances that will run from afternoon to evening, including music and other performance art.

One of the more interesting facets of the event is the "Fork Cancer" competition, which will bring local chefs and food trucks together to provide the "Best-in-Fest" culinary creation. Guests will sample their delectable fare and decide the winner by popular vote. Some of the other fun features of the event include other contests, beverage sponsors, beer tastings, and performances. There will also be a "Buy out Cancer" marketplace and auction where additional funds will be raised via the purchase of creations made by local craft and design talents.

Saturday's event will begin at 2pm and run to 10pm. You'll find the Maui Brewing Company perched on a scenic South Maui property that lies on the mauka edge of Kihei. Tickets are a modest $25 for general admission and $55 for VIP. If you're interested in attending the special VIP reception on Friday night, you can follow the link above and email the event coordinators to inquire. We hope that you'll be able to attend this special event to help support the efforts of the American Cancer Society and to help build Hope Lodge Hawaii. Mahalo!
