15th Annual Art of Aloha Exhibition in Wailea

There's nothing like that captivating piece of artwork on your wall to add interest to your Maui home. Art can be both enjoyable and a vehicle for expression, not just for the artists themselves, but also for those of us who take their work home. Your taste in art can say a lot about you, and help establish the ambiance that you desire.

Luckily for you, Maui is widely considered the art Mecca of the Pacific, as world renowned painters, sculptors, and photographers come to the island for inspiration, among many others. Even if the artist doesn't live here, or visit frequently, many of the world's greatest are featured in galleries here, including pop artist Andy Warhol, expressionist Marc Chagall, and surrealists Vladimir Kush and Pablo Picasso.

If you're interested in exploring the works of exceptional artists on Maui, you may be interested in the upcoming 15th annual "Art of Aloha" exhibition here in South Maui at The Shops at Wailea in Lahaina Galleries. The event will be held on Sunday, January 29th, 2017, and will feature eight talented artists from around the world.

This year's list of artists:

  • Douglas Ball (Hawaii) Former Disney artist, Hawaiiana
  • Yankel Ginzburg (Kazakhstan) Mixed media colorist, floral & figurative
  • Ronaldo Macedo (Brazil/Hawaii) Icon in the Hawaiian fine art world
  • Larissa Morais (Moscow) Sensual figurative works and floral
  • Andrea Razzauti (Italy) Tuscan themed works and Hawaii beaches
  • Lyle Sopel (Canada) Featured National Geographic stone carver
  • Roy Tabora (Hawaii) Masterful seascapes of Hawaii
  • Steve Turnbull (Hawaii) Free flowing Maui based wood sculptor

The event is free and open to the public, so feel free to drop by, enjoy some light refreshments, and take the opportunity to meet some of these talented individuals. You may find a piece that you love enough to bring home. Who knows? You might even discover a new favorite artist, or find some inspiration for your own creative works. If you need more information on the event, you can visit www.lahainagalleries.com.
