Tickets are on sale now for this special golf sporting event that kicks off at The Plantation Course in Kapalua. Prices vary as there will be special offers and different packages including a kamaaina discount for $25 all day pass. 

The annual golf tournament is only for professional players from the 2018 PGA TOUR. This exclusive sports event has been on Maui since the late 90’s. Prior to moving to Maui the Tournament of Champions started in 1953 at the Las Vegas’ Desert Inn Country Club. It was formed as an event for winners from the prior season and continued to be in Las Vegas until it moved to La Costa Country Club in Carlsbad, Calif., where it remained for 30 years before heading to our backyard. Currently, it’s held at the Kapalua Resort in West Maui. Since 1999 the host organizations of the event have distributed more than $6.3 million to the Maui community.

Two years ago the PGA Tournament of Champions changed its named to the Sentry Tournament of Champions, named after its new sponsor Sentry Insurance. Sentry Insurance is a business-focused mutual insurance company and took over the sponsorship title after Hyundai.

This year's golf schedule is as follows: the Pro-Am will be on Wednesday, January 2 with the professional competition kicking off on Thursday, January 3. Sunday, January 6 is the final day of this individual stroke play (no cut) defended by the current PGA Tour Champion, Dustin Johnson.
