Every year there are a plethora of incredible Maui events to indulge in. From triathlons to marathons, Maui has made a name for itself in the athletic world as a place to partake in some of your favorite outdoor competitions. One such event that is sure to get your heart pounding is coming to the Valley Isle this July, and we think you should gather your friends and family and participate in the annual Iao Valley Run.
The Iao Valley Run is scheduled to kick off on July 13 at 7:30 a.m. and last until around 10 a.m. The run will start at the Wailuku Municipal Parking Lot off Vineyard Street. There will be two choices for the race, a 10k and a 5k. The 10k elevation is around 780 feet whereas the 5K height is about 300 feet. The run will head through the Iao Valley State Park and back down again. There will be aid stations situated throughout the course along with water stations. Each year the run celebrates the outdoors and Maui’s active lifestyle and is a great way to give back to the community.
Founded as a nonprofit organization in 1970, the Valley Isle Road Runners was started to promote running on the island and to support the running community that is already here. Proceeds from each race along with sponsorships and membership fees are used to develop more programs and events! In the past, the Kraig Vickers Honor Run and Youth Cross Country Championship Races have benefited from this run that continues to draw crowds year after year. Start training today, and we’ll see you at the finish line.
In the meantime, make sure to continue to look at our online inventory for real estate. You can even explore what’s for sale in the area of the run! Just check out Central Maui real estate. Whether you’re interested in seeing what new real estate options are available or what homes are for sale on different parts of the island you can do all that and more using our website. You may want to check out our real estate Maui map and are always free to contact us with any questions you might have. Have a great week and a hui hou!
