When it comes to Maui events, some of the best gatherings to attend are those that support our local island community. If you are in the market for buying a new home on Maui and are interested in being a real contributor here in the islands, then it's never a bad idea to stay up to date about the latest in community events. One in particular that we recommend you attend this fall is the 2019 Youth Arts Exhibition at the upcountry Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center from August 2nd to August 23rd.
This one-of-a-kind exhibition will showcase the work of more than 250 local Maui keiki (children) participating in the Hui's summer arts programs. These children never cease to amaze the community with their creative works that are both unique and visually appealing. And while these may be children, the work they produce is nothing short of inspiring!
If you are new to the island and are not quite sure what the Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center is, this beautiful community gathering place is a nonprofit, non-degree granting, community-based visual arts education organization that provides open access to quality arts instruction by teaching our island artists.
Throughout the year, the Hui spearheads a wide range of programs that support lifelong learning in the arts, including workshops and classes for all ages, lectures, exhibitions, art events, historic house tours, and educational outreach programs with our area schools and various community partner organizations. The art studios at Hui Noeau also happen to be the only public studios on Maui that offer year-round access to equipment and more.
The Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center is a fantastic place to visit and invest in some amazing classes.
