When you consider buying a home, what comes to mind? Is it price? Is it a location? Or is a bigger picture of what your home and your environment will offer you and your family. We hope it’s the last in that list and that you consider weighing what will make you happy in the end. And if happiness is your goal, you can bet you can find it here in Hawaii.

According to a recent study by Wallethub, one of the happiest places in the world to call home just so happens to be Hawaii! While buying real estate here can make you happy for many reasons, from finding a beachfront condo at the Mana Kai in Kihei to buying a house in Wailea, it’s not just the property for sale here that will leave you smiling.

According to the study it was found that in order to have a happy and full life, it’s important to have a good balance of emotional, physical, economic and social health. The study has determined what top locations consists of all these factors across the US, and it’s been found that the State of Hawaii is the one that measures the most in all of these areas combined!

In order to determine the happiest states in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states across three categories, including emotional and physical well-being, work and environment, and community and environment. Hawaii ranked number one for emotional and physical well-being, number 25 for work and environment and scored 12 for the community and environment category. Those conducting the study evaluated those dimensions using 31 relevant metrics and graded them on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing maximum happiness. Hawaii hit the number one spot with an overall score of 66.48.
