The latest news on the Andaz Maui, a new hotel located on a stunning oceanfront South Maui property in Wailea, is that reservations can be booked as early as August 15th. If you’ve got friends in town who need accommodations, it might be fun for them to be one of the first ones to stay there, or to book a stay when the hotel is complete.
According to the new reports, while the Andaz will allow guests to stay as of August 15th, the hotel does not have an official date yet for its grand opening. Officials say that the construction work still being done shouldn’t interfere with the first round of guests. It will be very exciting to see how it all turns out!
This is a big project for South Maui, considering the property consists of 15 acres, and the redevelopment came with a $90 million price tag. The hotel is a joint venture by Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Starwood Capital Group. Reservations start at $409 per night, which is not unusual for high-end Maui hotels.
The Andaz is located on the site where the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort used to be. You can see the hotel from the parking lot at Ulua beach, a popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving, which is incredibly convenient for guests who enjoy those activities. The reef at Ulua is one of the best on the island for biodiversity and ease of access. Another convenient factor for the Andaz is its location at the north end of Wailea, meaning it is situated conveniently near the hustle and bustle of Kihei, as well as the elegant luxury that Wailea has to offer.
