It’s only the middle of summer and, according to a recent news article in the Maui News, the heatwave has broken 52 records so far. July has created the most significant demand so far, according to Maui Electric Company representatives, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The heatwave began in April when eight record-breaking days occurred in Kahului. In May 13 records were broken, and June had the most so far with 18 highs.
